Skowhegan Savings Completes Purchase of Jackman Branch

JACKMAN, Maine - Skowhegan Savings opened its tenth office on August 20 in Jackman, Maine. The branch office was acquired from the Border Trust Company through an agreement that was announced in April. All customer accounts have been transitioned to Skowhegan Savings.
"Over the past several weeks a team from Skowhegan Savings has been working with the Border Trust team to assure that the transition is as smooth as possible for all Jackman customers," noted John Witherspoon, president and CEO of Skowhegan Savings. "Our entire customer service team is ready to help Jackman customers with any questions they may have about their account transfers and we're looking forward to bringing our brand of community banking to the Jackman area."
The branch will continue to be led by Betsy Guay and her local team and they will work with Skowhegan Savings' Branch Manager for northern Somerset County, Nanook Tuefferd.

The acquisition was agreed to by the two banks in the spring. It allows Border Trust to focus on its central and mid-coast markets, with its headquarters in Augusta. Skowhegan Savings is based in Somerset County and has several other branches along the Route 201 corridor.
