Aztec Two Step and Rustic Overtones Headline
Two Concerts at River Fest

SKOWHEGAN, Maine - Aztec Two Step, renowned for their original acoustic songs, and Rustic Overtones, one of Portland's best known independent rock bands, will showcase their musical talents at this year's River Fest event in downtown Skowhegan. Tickets are now available for both shows online and in local outlets. Concert information is as follows:
On Friday evening, June 25, 2010 Aztec Two Step, one of acoustic music's most enduring acts will perform original songs and a selection from the Simon and Garfunkel songbook at the Skowhegan Opera House. Emilia Dahlin, will open the show with her with raw, rootsy folk and dynamic jazz vocals. Tickets for this show are $16 advance; $22 at the door for balcony seats; $18 in advance; $25 at the door for floor seating. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
Rustic Overtones, will entertain crowds on Saturday evening under the River Fest Event Tent in the municipal parking lot on Commercial Street. Rustic Overtones, one of Portland most popular independent bands, has blended rock, soul, jazz and more to create a unique sound. All tickets for this event are $5.00 and proceeds will go to benefit the Run of River Project and Main Street Skowhegan organization. Tent opens at 7:00 pm.
Tickets for both concert events are now available for cash or check at all Skowhegan Savings branch locations, the Skowhegan Town Hall and the Skowhegan Area Chamber of Commerce. Aztec Two Step's Simon and Garfunkel tribute has been known as a crowd pleaser - with audience members often singing along; Emilia Dahlin was voted as Portland's best female vocalist 2005-2007. Rustic Overtones have brought high energy and a blend of musical styles to audiences throughout the country;

The concerts complement a weekend full of family-friendly activities planned for River Fest and the Upper Kennebec Valley Outdoor Expo, including free raft trips, 5K road race and an assortment of games, displays, entertainment and food. In partnership with the Run of River Committee, the Town of Skowhegan, and Main Street Skowhegan, Skowhegan Savings is underwriting the event this year as part of its ongoing efforts to promote economic and community development.
