Skowhegan Savings Honored by the Maine Children's Trust
AUGUSTA, Maine – On Tuesday, May 5, Karen Hart, Skowhegan Savings' Assistant Vice President and
Marketing Officer, accepted the Maine Children's Trust Business Collaborator award on behalf of the
bank. The Maine Children’s Trust is the statewide non-profit organization whose mission is to prevent
child abuse and neglect. It works to create a brighter future for Maine children. Skowhegan Savings was
one of five recipients of the 2009 Maine Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Awards.

employees’ ongoing volunteerism in many youth activities and the bank’s support of many programs that
support youth, Skowhegan Savings continues to be a leader in this area. Our employees volunteer
thousands of hours annually in support of youth programs which goes hand in hand with our mission of
making our communities a better place to live,” said Hart.

The Business Collaborator award is for a local business in recognition of the fact that community-based
prevention values meaningful support from the business community. Skowhegan Savings has been

monetary support, as well as staff volunteers, for the Somerset County’s Family Enrichment Council’s
prevention awareness event held each April.
