Skowhegan Savings Bank Presented Financial Advisory Class to Carrabec High School Seniors
MADISON, Maine – On Thursday, March 26, Pam Ward, branch manager for the Norridgewock and Madison
offices of Skowhegan Savings Bank gave a presentation on financial management to the senior class at
Carrabec High School in Madison.
"Part of Skowhegan Savings' mission is to educate our communities about financial literacy," said Skowhegan
Savings Bank President and CEO John Witherspoon. "We are particularly interested in helping our young
people to develop these critical life skills."
Ward went over opening a savings or checking account, ATM/debit cards, online banking, bill pay, and touched
on how the students could establish good credit. Ward was asked to return to the school next year for another
presentation.
The students found her presentation informative and entertaining.
"I bribed them with candy bars," Ward said. "If they asked a question, they received a candy bar and there were
lots of great questions."
