Skowhegan Savings, Asst. VP Hart Lauded by Skowhegan Area Chamber of Commerce
SKOWHEGAN, Maine – Skowhegan Savings and Karen Hart, assistant vice president and marketing officer at the bank were both presented with awards at the annual Skowhegan Area Chamber of Commerce Dinner and meeting held on February 19, 2010.
The bank, celebrating its 140th anniversary was awarded the Large Business of the Year award for its progressive approach to business, commitment to community, appealing appearance and positive work environment.
Over the past year, Skowhegan Savings introduced the Integrity Service training program that emphasizes a customer-service focus in all of its nine branches, was named a Best Place to Work in Maine and has refocused its charitable giving program to make awards quarterly to community organizations.
Karen Hart was presented with the Alton W. Whittemore Award for lifetime achievement. This is presented to the individual who demonstrates strength of character, leadership qualities and provides outstanding service to the citizens of Skowhegan as well as overwhelming spirit for the community. Hart is well-known throughout the Skowhegan community not only for her work with the bank, but her leadership with numerous community groups including the Skowhegan Rotary Club, Main Street Skowhegan, Run of the River, the Chamber, and several others.
