MADISON, Maine - Skowhegan Savings helped to raise the curtain on the 111th season of Lakewood Theater, the oldest summer theater in the nation. On May 26, President and CEO John Witherspoon and Board Chair Roger Gifford joined Mary Simonoff, manager at Lakewood to welcome patrons to the first performance of the year.
"Lakewood is a central component to the creative economy in Somerset County. It has a storied history, and through the entertaining performances, adjacent restaurant and lakeside setting, is a draw for visitors from all around," noted Witherspoon.
Skowhegan Savings is one of the business underwriters for Lakewood, making a donation through its charitable giving program that focuses on economic and community development.
