Educational Planning

Promise for the Future is our program designed to teach children about money and savings. Everyone at Skowhegan Savings believes that providing our youth with a superior education is an important part of our mission as a community bank. We are committed to helping youth and families learn more about money management and the key role that saving money plays in lifelong finances.

Good financial habits, like so many other important skills our young people acquire as they grow, should begin at an early age. The good new is, Skowhegan Savings is here to help! We are happy to meet with school groups, youth organizations or others that would like to learn more about the benefits of saving.

We are also excited to announce the winners of the "Promise for the Future" College Scholarships for 2009. Fifty students, grades 3-6, were selected from within the communities served by Skowhegan Savings to receive a $100 Education Savings account.

Skowhegan Savings and our employees have made a commitment to our communities' children and we believe that in order to see true and lasting economic development in this region, it begins with education.
